Meet Libbey

MSW, LISW (Licensed Independent Social Worker), she/her

Facing challenges is part of the human experience, but it doesn’t have to be done alone. As a therapist, I believe that creating a safe environment where you can freely explore your experiences, thoughts, and feelings is of the utmost importance. With that, I aim to support, challenge, and empower you to determine what your goals are and make meaningful progress toward them.

I specialize in various evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), both traditional and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT and RO-DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure Therapy/Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Through our sessions, I will tailor my approach to best support you as an individual. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, disordered eating, and low self-esteem, among other things. Whatever is bringing you to therapy, I am committed to helping you address it with compassion.

Anyone seeking support to confront their unique difficulties is welcome here. I come from a social work background, and the experiences I gained in social work positions and my studies have helped to inform the approach I take with clients. I am well-versed in trauma informed care and focus on being sensitive to cultural issues and marginalized groups. I align myself with social justice movements aimed at equity and inclusion. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I take pride in providing affirming and inclusive care.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by your mental health struggles, know that you're worthy of support and understanding. Taking the courageous step to seek assistance is significant, and I'm honored to walk alongside you as you navigate the path toward healing. Reach out, and let's work together to create a brighter future for you.

When I’m Not Counseling…

you can find me creating pottery for my small ceramics business, baking something sweet, or listening to music. If I’m not doing those things, there’s a good chance I’m curling up with my clingy cat, Lula (she’s on my lap every moment she can be, including as I’m typing this), or going for a walk outside.
