Meet Becca

MA, LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), she/they

Let's peek into Miss Becca's therapy space!

I believe in the inherent value and worth of every person and seek to honor each client’s unique experience and identity. Every child and individual with a disability or neurodivergence deserves to have their voice heard, valued, uplifted, and respected.

I specialize in working with children ages 0-12, but I also work with adults with trauma using EMDR Therapy, and I have a particular passion for working with individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities and neurodivergence, particularly autism.

When I work with children, I listen to and guide them with respect and empathy that gives space for empowered healing to occur. I seek to provide a safe, warm, and empathetic space where children can heal, learn, play, and grow. I offer a child-centered approach and focus on emotional attunement to the family’s and child’s needs. I meet children where they are but have a particular passion for helping children who have experienced trauma; have anxiety, OCD, or phobias; struggle with self-esteem, bullying, self-harm, or behavioral concerns; are going through a life transition (adoption, divorce, foster care); or are exploring LGBTQ+ gender identity or sexuality. My treatment modalities are individually tailored but often include elements of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing trauma therapy (EMDR) for trauma, mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), somatic experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and experiential therapy. I encourage a wide variety of therapeutic processing techniques, including movement, expressive arts, sand tray, and play.

When I work with individuals with disabilities, my focus is on helping them and their families make goals centered around their well-being and ability to thrive in their lives. Having a disability can be both an identity to be deeply proud of and the cause of painful struggle as you walk in a world that was not built to cater to your needs. No matter the age of the client, I will work with you as an individual who is wonderful just the way you are and also deserves to understand yourself better so you can feel empowered.

For individuals of all ages with trauma, I use EMDR, a trauma-focused modality that assists people who have experienced traumatic events to process and move beyond the trauma.

I place great value on providing a space and approach that is supportive, understanding, and accepting of all cultures, identities, and individual differences. I embrace all LGBTQ+ identities and provide affirmative care to LGBTQ+ youth. Differences in all children and families are honored and celebrated here. Families and caregivers are central in the counseling space and healing process for children and individuals with disabilities. I offer parent coaching and family sessions alongside individual therapy with a family-centered approach that allows learning and healing to expand from the therapy space into the family home.

Choosing to reach out for support is the brave first step in the journey we are beginning together. Whatever brings your family to this safe space, I welcome you. I am here to both guide and walk with you and your family on this path towards healing, growth, and discovery.
